Who We Are: Cleveland's Death Metal Band

· The Band

If you've ever stood in a pit while 200 Stab Wounds tear through a set, you already know the feeling. But who are we, and where did we come from? Here's a quick guide for new listeners and old ones.

Where are we from?

We come from Cleveland, Ohio. We were founded there in 2019 and are now signed to Metal Blade Records.

Who is in 200 Stab Wounds?

The current lineup is Steve Buhl on vocals and guitar, Owen Pooley on drums, Raymond MacDonald on guitar and Todd Thompson on bass.

What do we sound like?

Old-school death metal, played heavy and gory. Metal Blade describes Manual Manic Procedures as "a brutal slab of old-school death metal with a contemporary edge". Expect big riffs, plenty of groove and song titles that read like a horror film.

The releases so far

  • Piles of Festering Decomposition (EP, 2020)
  • Slave to the Scalpel (2021)
  • Masters of Morbidity (EP, 2023)
  • Manual Manic Procedures (2024)

A third album, Lowest Form, is announced for 19 February 2027 on Metal Blade.

Wear the logo

The dripping logo on our designs is our own: a stacked wall of spikes that spells 200 / STAB / WOUNDS once you know how to read it. Every piece at 200 Stab Wounds Merch comes on tees, hoodies and sweatshirts. Whether you've been there since the first EP or just found us, there's something for your corner of the pit.
